Replace a static form

Decide when an existing Typeform or Google Forms workflow should become a Lemma study.

Start with a form where the first answer is usually not enough.

Lemma is a strong replacement when you currently collect short responses and then wish you could ask follow-up questions, clarify examples, or turn the answers into Doc, Slides, transcripts, and a useful synthesis.

Good replacement candidates

Customer feedback

Static forms tell you what people say. Lemma helps uncover why they said it, what happened, and what to fix first.

Lead qualification

Static forms collect fields. Lemma can ask about context, urgency, objections, fit, and next steps.

Churn feedback

Static forms collect cancellation reasons. Lemma can follow up on the trigger moment, failed workarounds, and what would have changed the decision.

Customer stories

Static forms collect fragments. Lemma can ask for the before state, turning point, outcome, quote, and proof.

Weak replacement candidates

Keep a static form when the workflow is mostly operational:

  • newsletter signup
  • event registration
  • file upload
  • payment collection
  • scheduling fields
  • binary yes or no intake
  • legally required structured fields

How to choose the first form

Use this test:

  1. Does the form support a real decision?
  2. Would one follow-up question improve most answers?
  3. Would a transcript, quote, theme, or summary be useful?
  4. Would a human normally need to follow up manually?

If the answer is yes to at least three, it is a good Lemma candidate.

Example

Instead of asking "Why did you cancel?" in a static field, use Lemma to ask what triggered the cancellation, what the customer tried first, what got worse over time, and what would have changed the outcome.

What to preserve from the old form

When rebuilding a form as a Lemma study, preserve:

  • the audience
  • the decision the form supports
  • the most important starter questions
  • any language respondents already understand

Do not preserve every field. A study should not feel like a spoken spreadsheet.
