Upload a discussion guide

Import an existing discussion guide so Lemma can pre-fill the study draft.

If you already have a discussion guide, upload it instead of recreating it by hand.

Upload Discussion Guide is useful when a researcher already has a structured interview plan.

When to use this

Use a discussion guide when:

  • the research plan already exists
  • a customer, client, or teammate approved the guide
  • the order of questions matters
  • the study needs to preserve specific language

Use a brain dump or template when:

  • you are still shaping the study
  • you want Lemma to help generate the first draft
  • you only know the goal and audience

What to check after import

After importing a guide, review:

  • the study goal
  • the opening questions
  • the follow-up depth
  • the participant-facing language
  • whether the guide assumes a human moderator

Human-moderated guides often contain notes that should become guidance for Lemma, not participant-facing questions.
