Standard interview
A typical research interview: 6-10 questions with light probing. Use it for most first studies.
Deep dive
An in-depth exploration: 12-18 questions with rich probing. Use it when nuance matters more than speed.

Use Standard interview for:
- customer discovery
- product/service feedback
- lead qualification
- onboarding or churn follow-up
Use Deep dive for:
- strategic research
- customer story discovery
- employee experience investigations
- high-stakes qualitative decisions
Common mistake
Do not choose Deep dive just because the topic is important. Choose it when the participant has enough context and motivation to answer a longer conversation.
