How do studies, sessions, responses, and insights work?

Learn the core terms used in Lemma.

Lemma uses a few terms repeatedly. Learn these first so the rest of the Help Center is easier to follow.

Core Terms

Study

The container you create. It includes the goal, format, context, questions, and follow-up settings.

Session

One completed participant conversation inside a study.

Responses

The table where completed sessions appear. Use it to inspect summaries, answers, status, and transcripts.

Transcript

The source wording from a participant conversation. Use it to verify what was actually said.

Insights

The synthesis view for the study. Use it to read patterns, sample information, numbers, and quotes.

Research

The place to ask questions across the collected study data.

How The Pieces Connect

Step 1: Create a study

The study defines what Lemma should ask and how much it should follow up.

Step 2: Participants complete sessions

Each completed conversation becomes one session in the study.

Step 3: Responses show the source evidence

Open Responses to review sessions, summaries, transcripts, and per-question answers.

Step 4: Insights and Research help you synthesize

Use Insights to read the generated synthesis. Use Research to ask specific questions about the study data.
